Property Management
The picture of the stereotypical land agent is of a man (as opposed to a woman) in yellow corduroys with a black Labrador in the back of his shooting break or under his desk who always has an estate visit to do on Friday and Monday
Although we have a strong background in land agency and estate management we have never been keen on stereotypes and have a fundamentally different attitude to property management from the majority of our competitors
All our estate management advice starts with a detailed appraisal of our clients’ property assets and their aims and objectives. We work with our clients to develop a thorough understanding of both the property and business aspects of what they are aiming to achieve, which enables us to provide the correct level of management support and strategic advice to deliver the outcomes they want
Where necessary we draw on other sectors of the business to provide specialist input, for example with planning and development work or environmental stewardship schemes. We also use the most up to date property and digital mapping software to maintain the essential estate management information as efficiently as possible
We are also happy to take on smaller management jobs that the client would not normally consider to fall under the estate management description. This could include the preparation of annual grazing licences, the completion of Single Payment Scheme forms or the letting of a cottage
We have a good working knowledge of all the usual forms of tenancy and licence agreements as well as share farming and contract farming arrangements. Our expertise in agricultural tenancy agreements and licences is recognised by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Mark Sanders chairs the RICS Agricultural Tenancies Monitoring Group which is responsible for publishing the RICS suite of tenancy and licence agreements and is also a member of the Government’s Tenancy Reform Industry Group (TRIG) which is responsible for the recent reforms to agricultural tenancies
As with all our work, our aim is to be realistic and proportionate in our approach to fees and we are happy to consider a success related fee structure in suitable cases
