Agricultural tenancies
Our long association with the agricultural community and the law surrounding agricultural holdings, places us in a strong position to advise clients on all aspects of agricultural tenancies. We have for many years been panel valuers for the Tenant Farmers Association
Key areas where we have traditionally become involved whether acting for landlords or tenants include:
- Rent reviews
- Succession planning
- Compensation
- Service of notices
- Interpretation of tenancy agreements
- Settling disputes through negotiation, arbitration, or Agricultural Land Tribunal
- Tenant freehold purchases
Since 1995 new tenancies have been governed by the Agricultural Tenancies Act and given rsie to Farm Business Tenancies (otherwise known as FBTs). Creating new agreements under this legislation and negotiating their terms has been a prominent area of our involvement. We have also been at the forefront in directly representing the RICS with recent tenancy reforms as part of the industry proposals
We are conscious of professional fee levels in relation to the value of the issue under dispute and aim to offer cost effective solutions where ever possible
